Black Papper | Lung CancerIn the never-ending search for the treatment of lung cancer, many researchers have turned towards nature. Various studies of Indian spices have been conducted to find out the health benefits for lung cancer patients. The molecule piperine, a flavor compound in black pepper, has anti-cancer properties. Black pepper can easily be included in almost all recipes. Black pepper is often referred to as the “King of spices.” It comes with the dried, unripe fruit of the native Indian plant Piper nigrum. In addition to adding amazing flavor to foods, black pepper may act as an antioxidant and offers a variety of health benefits.

The piperine of black pepper has the ability for prevention of cancer. Also, it becomes twice as potent when you combine it with turmeric. According to the study conducted in Michigan’s cancer institute, the black pepper along with turmeric can work to prevent the growth of cancerous stem cells in tumors. The piperine could significantly impair the growth of cancer cells. It works to display anti-cancer effects in different lung cancer cell lines.

Again, the piperine in black pepper helps in digestion process and thus, stimulates the stomach. It then secretes more hydrochloric acid to facilitate digestion of proteins in food.

Black pepper comes with lots of health benefits. It has Vitamin C, Vitamin A, carotenes and other anti-oxidants to remove free radicals from the body. It helps to protect it from cancers and diseases. Black pepper can work to enhance the absorption and function of certain nutrients. This Indian spice may also promote proper stomach function. Due to their positive effects on stomach function, it may be useful for those facing poor digestion issues.

Though black pepper comes with lots of health benefits but more research is required to be done in arena of lung cancer.
