Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions for your health, especially considering the risks of lung cancer. Many people want to quit but cannot due to their old habit. Using Vaping and e cigarettes are chosen by some people to quit their habit of smoking. Vaping is when you use a handheld electronic device to breathe a mist into your lungs. E-cigarettes are another electronic nicotine delivery system that heats a liquid of nicotine, flavoring additives into an aerosol to inhale through the mouth. But, the long-term health consequences of such devices remain a growing concern.
Various studies have been conducted to identify a range of harmful substances in e-cigarette vapor such as heavy metals, ultrafine particles and Volatile Organic Compounds. These substances are linked to various respiratory issues including emphysema and COPD. Also, some of these chemicals known as carcinogens are raising concerns about their potential role in development of lung cancer.
While vaping is considered as a way to quit smoking, it is essential to consider the potential risks carefully. E cigarettes may be less harmful than traditional cigarettes but are certainly not risk-free. It is important to understand the long-term effects of vaping and e cigarettes. As there are health risks involved as vaping grows, it is essential to approach such devices with caution and make informed decisions about your personal health.
While some may have be able to successfully quit smoking using e-cigarette, the overall effectiveness of these products as a smoking cessation aid remains limited. E cigarettes are not first-line treatments for quit smoking. There are many other products available that help you to quit smoking that are safe and effective. Indian government enacted the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act in 2019 to prohibit the production, manufacture, import, export, sale, distribution and advertisement of e cigarettes across the country.
