GingerWhen one is undergoing lung cancer treatment, the taste diminishes or even changes. The patient goes through a lot of mental, physical as well as psychological changes in the body. When it comes to food, one needs to take some extra care to ensure that the body recovers completely. Adding herbs and spices to the regular foods can help in enhancing the flavors and also help to fight against the deadly disease. One of the species that are beneficial for your health as a lung cancer patient is Ginger.

Ginger works to play an important role for people living with lung cancer. Ginger contains a compound called 6-shagol which may help in preventing the development of lung cancer. It also works to lower the risk of metastases from already present cancer. The evidence for benefits of ginger for lung cancer patients were being noted by treating lung cancer cells in the lab. It was found that the dietary intake of ginger reduced the risk of lung cancer metastases in mice with lung cancer. Metastases are the leading death cause among lung cancer patients and this is a useful finding in the area. As per few studies, certain extracts of ginger are known to kill cancer cells.
