Relaxation Breathing

One of the best exercises for lung cancer patients is relaxation breathing. It helps to reduce stress and anxiety. Breathing exercises include taking slow and deep breaths to relax. Such exercises increase the activity of the diaphragm and elevate the volume of air entering lungs. They work to show a significant improvement in the lung function.

Strength Training

During lung cancer treatment, a patient suffers physically as well as mentally. Here comes the need for strength training. You should consult with your health care practitioner before starting a training program.

Light walking

Lung cancer patients can start with light walking or easy cycling with short sessions. As the body is suffering from various physical challenges, it may not be able to handle heavy exercises. Taking light walk of 5-10 minute sessions is a great way to keep one motivated. One can also use pedometer or smartwatch to measure the steps taken. This allows one to set goals and work towards achieving them.

Stretching

Body stretching exercises are useful for patients with shortness of breath. The stretching program helps to restore mobility in the back and offers free movement of the lungs. It also improves circulation and increases oxygen to the muscles. By performing stretching every day, it helps to improve their posture as well. Stretching keeps the body flexible as well.

Yoga

Performing yoga is also a good way to improve your body posture. It improves cardiac function as well as oxygen capacity. It can be performed at home and at convenient times. This can be done several times a day.
