Kushtha (Saussurea lappa)The ayurvedic herbal plants are increasingly being used in the treatment of lung cancer. Lung cancer is one of the deadliest diseases and cigarette smoking is the leading cause behind it. Ayurvedic medicines are offered as an extra therapy in addition to the regular line of treatment. The aim is to help patients to manage their cancer and lower its spread to many other areas of the body. One of the useful herbs includes Kushtha which is also called Saussurea Lappa.

Saussurea Lappa is a perennial herbaceous plant and is grown in good soil drainage. It ranges from 5-10cm tall with dense leaves. The stems as well as the flowers are used in traditional medicines. The herb is used to effectively treat lung cancer. It comprises of several vitamins and minerals like Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C and Potassium. The herb can also act as an anti-fatigue, cardio tonic and anti-inflammatory. In addition, it is also used to relieve ulcers and respiratory disorders.

Ayurvedic herbs are used to manage serious ailments owing to the benefits they offer. They strengthen patients to go through the difficulties faced during lung cancer treatment. These help them to stay healthy and fit.

Saussurea Lappa is considered to be safe for use when taken in recommended doses. It is generally taken one hour before or two hours before after meals. You should always consult your health care practitioner before starting intake of any new medicine or ayurvedic herb.
