Stage three lung cancer symptoms are the symptoms which indicate that the occurrence of advance stage. Stage three lung cancer is of two types which are stage 3A and stage 3B, each of these stages has its own characteristics which is based on the extent in which the cancer has spread to other parts of the lungs and lymph node. In this stage of the cancer, the tumor is difficult to eradicate, and there is every possibility that the cancer has spread to the lymph node which is located at the center of the chest outside the lung region.
However, 40% of people diagnose with stage three lung cancer have reached the advance stage in which the cancer tumor becomes unrecoverable or incurable. At this critical stage, it is possible that the cancer has spread to the lymph node on the same side of the lung including some organs such as bronchus, diaphragm, lung lining, chest, wall lining, trachea, esophagus, nerve controlling the voice box, chest bone, and others. At this point, where the organs around the lung and chest are infected, there is a great tendency that part or all of the lung may become inflamed or collapse. Examples of symptoms that indicate that cancer has progressed to stage three includes frequent cough, trouble breathing, pains in chest area, wheezing sound when breathing, change in voice, drop in weight, bone pain, constant headache.
Besides these general symptoms of stage three, there are other symptoms depending on the level at which the cancer has spread. The presence of cancer in the chest wall and diaphragm can result to chest pains, pains in the ribs, shoulder and back pains. Cancer spread to the airways can cause symptoms such as hemoptysis (coughing out blood), and wheezing. When tumor spreads to areas such as esophagus and other chest region, there will be symptoms such as difficulty in swallowing, and hoarseness. Stage three lung cancer symptoms are very obvious, they can be easily noticed. It enables the multidisciplinary team to know the precise treatment to carry out on the patient so as to control the cancer spread.
