Ocimum Tenuiflorum (Tulsi)Tulsi is always known for its great healing powers and has a rich history dating back to 3,000 years ago. This holy basil has the scientific name Ocimum Tenuiflorum and is one of the best medicinal herbs that have been discovered till date. It comes with an endless medicinal values and it has been worshipped and highly valued for thousands of years in India. Ayurvedic medicines for lung cancer are increasingly being used for their medicinal values.

Cancer has long been associated with increased levels of intra-cellular free radicals. These radicals come with antioxidant supplement which is considered as a way to hinder the progress of cancer. Tulsi comes with strong anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic properties. This ayurvedic herb helps in stopping the progression of lung cancer. The compounds which are present in Tulsi such as vitamin-C, Eugenol and Cineole to cure the infections in the lungs and also help to cure congestion of the lungs.

The tulsi plant has been researched for its metabolite-biosynthesis genes. These metabolites could be utilized as anti-cancer treatment. The researchers have focused on the chemopreventive properties of Tulsi. The herb works to mediate the effects of lung cancer by increasing the antioxidant activity, and altering the gene expressions. It works to restrict the flow of blood to the tumor by attacking blood vessels supplying it.

The phytochemicals in tulsi prevent lung cancer as they increase antioxidant activity, induce cancer cell death and prevent blood vessel growth contributing to the cancer cell growth. It also works to stop metastasis which spreads cancer from one organ to another. In addition to helping in curing lung cancer, tulsi also works to cure fever, beat diabetes, beat stress, quit smoking and keep your skin and hair healthy and glowing.
